1. Who we are
Paddock ("we", "us", "our") is a horse health and care management platform operated by Impression Websites, based in Australia. Our website and application are available at horseapp.au.
We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. What information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account details: your name and email address when you register
- Horse profiles: horse name, breed, colour, sex, date of birth, microchip number, purchase details, and avatar
- Care records: vaccinations, dental, farrier, worming, medications, health readings, and agistment records you enter
- Documents: files you upload (PDFs, images) such as vaccination certificates and registration papers
- Financial records: feed and supply costs you log (amounts and categories only โ no bank details)
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and session duration โ used to improve the product
- Technical data: browser type, device type, and IP address for security and error monitoring
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what you voluntarily enter about your horses
- We do not track you across other websites
- We do not collect or store payment card details
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Provide and operate the Paddock service
- Send care reminder emails (upcoming vaccinations, dental checks, farrier visits etc.) โ you can turn these off at any time
- Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
- Send essential service emails (account confirmation, password resets, billing receipts)
- Respond to support requests
- Monitor for errors and improve the platform
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties โ ever.
4. Who we share it with
We share your data only with trusted service providers who help us run Paddock, and only to the extent necessary:
- Stripe โ payment processing and subscription management. Stripe's Privacy Policy
- Hosting provider โ our servers are hosted in Australia via cPanel/cPanel-based hosting
- Email delivery โ transactional emails (password resets, reminders) sent via our domain mail server
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes or share it with advertising networks.
We may disclose information if required by Australian law, a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Paddock, our users, or the public.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers located in Australia. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Password hashing โ we never store passwords in plain text
- JWT-based authentication with expiring tokens
- Uploaded documents stored outside the public web directory
- Database access restricted to the application only
No system is completely secure. If you become aware of any security issue, please contact us immediately at support@horseapp.au.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile, horse records, and uploaded documents are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Australian tax law
- Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely
7. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and personal data
- Portability: request an export of your horse and care records
- Opt-out: unsubscribe from reminder and marketing emails at any time

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
8. Cookies
Paddock uses minimal cookies and browser storage:
- Authentication token: stored in
localStorage to keep you signed in. Cleared when you sign out.
- Session preferences: light functional preferences stored locally in your browser
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
9. Children's privacy
Paddock is intended for use by adults (18 years and over). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Paddock after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
